Manufacturers of tyres for cars, light and heavy trucks must specify fuel consumption, wet grip and noise classification of every tyre sold in EU market as per European regulation (1222/2009). The recommended print technology for printing these labels is thermal transfer and labels will be subject to:

• Temporarily being seated outside, possibly in the rain.
• In a hot or cold humid warehouse.
• Subject to scuffing and light abrasion.
• Possibly be subjected to oils and light chemicals.
