B120 Flexible Wax Resin

Sometimes what you see visually is different to what you experience. Oysters don’t look very appetising, however fresh oysters taste amazing. A roller coaster looks incredibly dangerous, yet so much fun.

When you look at a roll of ShineMark’s B120 flexible wax resin you will notice that one side is jet black, but the opposite side is grey.  You may think! the print could be a little grey and difficult to scan. Let me explain what makes this ribbon so special and why it has a grey appearance on one side!

Firstly, you will see a jet-black coating on one side, this is the ink layer and has a medium melting point, which when printed gives great durability. Secondly the grey coating is the release layer closest to the polyester film. This release layer works in tandem with the ink and makes B120 an incredibly forgiving ribbon.

Forgiving in what way? B120 prints on the widest range of substrates and that it prints excellent on over printable inks and varnishes. B120 is also forgiving in operating at high speed, low speed, high energy, low energy, new printers, and old printers, which should be in the AIDC museum along with the TEC B30 (for those who have been in this industry a while will know the TEC B30 was a soldier of a printer in its time).

B120 really is a versatile thermal transfer ribbon and a great alternative if you are having supply issues with your incumbent wax resin of choice. B120 will easily ‘drop in’ to existing applications without the need to make adjustments to your printer. Versatile and flexible.
